The fifth season of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, which aired from September 23, 2004, to May 19, 2005, features a variety of intriguing cases that challenge the team's skills and knowledge. The season includes a personnel overhaul, the investigation of an "alien" corpse, a kidnapping, and a murder involving sports betting. The season also sees the team dealing with the return of the Blue Paint Killer and a kidnapping at a hotel. The season finale, "Grave Danger," reunites the team after a separation due to personal and professional differences.
