In season one of "Charles in Charge," Charles, a college student, becomes a live-in housekeeper for the Pembroke family in New Brunswick, New Jersey, in exchange for room and board. He juggles his studies at Copeland College with his duties caring for the three Pembroke children (Lila, Douglas, and Jason). Charles also navigates his social life, including his attempts to woo his crush, Gwendolyn Pierce, and his friendship with his best friend, Buddy.
