"Andy Warhol: A Documentary Film" is a four-hour documentary by Ric Burns that explores the life and work of Andy Warhol, the most influential American artist of the second half of the 20th century. The film, narrated by Laurie Anderson, delves into Warhol's meteoric rise in New York's commercial art world during the 1950s, his career-defining soup can paintings in 1962, and the infamous attempted assassination by Valerie Solanas in 1968. It also covers Warhol's diverse artistic output, including his films, sculptures, and the iconic Factory studio. The film won a 2006 Peabody Award and was televised on PBS as part of its American Masters series.
