"One for the Money" is a 2012 American crime comedy film based on Janet Evanovich's 1994 novel of the same name. The story follows Stephanie Plum, a broke and unemployed woman who becomes a bail enforcement agent at her cousin's bail bonds business. Her first assignment is to catch a fugitive cop-turned-murder suspect, her ex-boyfriend Joe Morelli, who has skipped out on his $500,000 bail.
