The Simpsons season 13 follows plots like a massive heatwave causing city-wide blackouts, which leads Homer to start his own police force, "SpringShield," and a plot where a social worker helps the family after a Monopoly game turns sour, only for Homer and Flanders' Vegas wives to reappear. Other episodes feature Lisa becoming a Buddhist and the family trying to win her back for Christmas, a storyline where Bart and Lisa discover a secret about their babysitter, and a roast of Homer with a special appearance by Kang and Kodos.
