Darkness

Anna Paquin plays the role of Regina Rua, the teenage daughter of the family who moves into a house in the Spanish countryside. The family's move is prompted by her father's desire to reconnect with his roots and his father, Albert. However, the house harbors a dark history, unknown to the family, and strange occurrences begin to plague them shortly after their arrival. Regina becomes increasingly suspicious of the house and its effect on her family, suspecting a supernatural presence. She, with the help of her boyfriend Carlos, begins investigating the history of the house, discovering that 40 years prior, a group attempted a dark ritual during a solar eclipse, involving the sacrifice of seven children. The ritual failed when one child escaped, leaving the 'Darkness' incomplete and seeking to fulfill its purpose.
