"Skateland" is set in the early 1980s in small-town Texas and follows the lives of a group of friends who are confronted with the realities of the precarious world around them. The story revolves around Ritchie Wheeler, a charismatic young skating rink manager, and his close-knit group of friends as they navigate the challenges of growing up and making tough life decisions. The film captures the essence of a time when life was easy, and the roller rink was a central hub for young people to gather and connect. As the roller rink closes, the characters face the harsh realities of an uncertain future, testing the bonds of their friendship and testing their individual paths.
