The Dream Master picks up a year after the events of "A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors." Kristen Parker, Joey Crusel, and Roland Kincaid have been released from the Westin Hills Asylum and are trying to live normal lives. However, Kristen begins to have nightmares that suggest Freddy Krueger has returned. She fears that her dreams could bring him back to life, and her instincts prove correct when Freddy is resurrected after a dog urinates on his grave in a junkyard.
