The Fellowship of the Ring: The story begins in the peaceful Shire, where the hobbit Frodo Baggins inherits the One Ring from his uncle Bilbo. The Ring, forged by Sauron, holds immense power and corrupts its bearer. Guided by the wizard Gandalf, Frodo sets out to Rivendell, pursued by Sauron’s servants, the Black Riders. At the Council of Elrond, representatives of Elves, Men, Dwarves, and Hobbits form the Fellowship of the Ring, tasked with destroying the Ring in the fires of Mount Doom. The Fellowship faces treacherous landscapes, internal conflicts, and attacks by Sauron’s forces, ultimately leading to its fragmentation as Frodo and Sam continue the journey alone while others confront enemies elsewhere. 
The Two Towers: The second volume follows the divided members of the Fellowship. Frodo and Sam, guided by the creature Gollum, navigate dangerous terrain toward Mordor. Meanwhile, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli pursue captured hobbits Merry and Pippin, encountering the kingdom of Rohan and its king Théoden, who is manipulated by the treacherous wizard Saruman. Battles erupt at Helm’s Deep and Isengard, showcasing the growing threat of Sauron’s armies. Merry and Pippin escape captivity, aiding in the liberation of Isengard. The narrative emphasizes the escalating war across Middle-earth and the moral and physical challenges faced by the characters.

The Return of the King: The final volume culminates in the ultimate confrontation with Sauron. Aragorn claims his heritage as King of Gondor and leads the forces of Men against Sauron’s armies to distract them from Frodo’s mission. Frodo and Sam, enduring immense hardship and betrayal, reach Mount Doom. Gollum’s obsession with the Ring leads to its destruction when he inadvertently falls into the lava with it, ending Sauron’s reign.
