Taking pointers from The Birthday Party and Funhouse era Stooges as well as early blues and jazz artists, the Laughing Hyenas were a fierce, sulfuric blast of noise. The sinister and hypnotic bass riffs, and tribal swing laid the perfect framework for Larissa’s (she only picked up a guitar a couple months before the band was born) slicing, jagged, she might even be murdering that thing guitar playing and John Brannon’s devilish howl.

That Girl (Hyena House, Ann Arbor Mi 1986)

Sister (Maxwell's, NJ 1988)

Lullaby and Goodnight (Maxwell's, NJ 1988)

Love's My Only Crime (The Ritz, NYC 1988)

Let It Burn (CBGB, NYC 1990)

Everything I Want (CBGB, NYC 1990)

Dedications to the One I Love (CBGB, NYC 1990)

Seven Come Eleven (Wnyu Radio, NYC 1990)

Wild Heart (Wnyu Radio, NYC 1990)Here We Go Again (Wnyu Radio, NYC 1990)

Public Animal #9 (Wnyu Radio, NYC 1990)

Black Cloud (Crocodile Cafe, Seattle 1992)

Crawl (Maxwell's, NJ 1993)

Just Can't Win (Performance Network, Ann Arbor Mi 1994)

Each Dawn I Die (Performance Network, Ann Arbor Mi 1994)

I Want You Right Now (Phoenix Center, Pontiac Mi 1993)

Stain (Hyena House, Ann Arbor Mi 1986)

Hell's Kitchen (Hyena House, Ann Arbor Mi 1986)

Playground (Hyena House, Ann Arbor Mi 1986)

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1566/5093/files/Laughing_Hyenas_-_That_Girl_-_Live_Recordings_1986-1994_-_2LP_Black_and_White_Swirl_Vinyl_-_2026.jpg?v=1768448730
